Charlee O'Brien

Charlee O'Brien
Charlie O’Brien
was born and raised on the family ranch outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma where he spent his youth hunting, fishing and becoming totally engulfed in the outdoors. From an early age, Charlie was taught how to respect and love the land and be a steward of his surroundings.

Charlie’s passion also carried over to organized sports. Much like his knowledge and experience afield Charlie’s gift for baseball led him to an impressive 15-year career in the Major Leagues. Over the course of his career, O'Brien had the distinction of catching eleven different Cy Young winners: Frank Viola, Dwight Gooden, Bret Saberhagen, David Cone, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Pat Hentgen, Roger Clemens, Chris Carpenter and Jack McDowell. Charlie played for the Oakland Athletics (1985), Milwaukee Brewers (1987–90), New York Mets (1990–93), Atlanta Braves (1994–95), Toronto Blue Jays (1996–97), Chicago White Sox (1998), Anaheim Angels (1998–99) and Montreal Expos (2000). He was part of the 1995 World Series Champion Atlanta Braves.

After retiring, Charlie went straight back to his roots and now can be found running one of the more premier whitetail deer operations in the country, Catch 22 Ranch. His hunting success and knowledge of deer hunting has led him to be one of the key members and hosts of the ever-popular hunting show Deer Thugs (as seen on the Pursuit Channel). With his success, Charlie has had the opportunity to hunt all of the World and pursue most of the North American large game animals.
