Kevin Werts – Field Staff

Kevin Werts was raised in Nebraska and worked on his Grandpa’s farm in the summer. This is where he reared an appreciation for spending time outside.  Although he always enjoyed the outdoors, he did not hunt or fish until he started working at Cabela’s in 1996.  Kevin was fortunate that some of his co-workers introduced him to hunting and fishing. Ever since then he cannot get enough of either.

 

Played Many Roles While Working at Cabelas

 

While working at Cabela’s, Kevin has filled many roles; including Budgeting and Planning Manager, Director of Finance, as well as, Director of Promotions and CFO/EVP of the Cabela’s CLUB.  He has hunted in Africa, Canada and all over the United States.  His true passion is introducing people to this great lifestyle and has taken several hunters to get their first turkey.

It Is Important For Sportsmen to Have a Voice

Not to mention he understands the importance for sportsmen to have a voice in forming the correct legislation.  Not only at the state level but federal level. This must be done to protect our hunting, fishing and trapping liberties.  He is a board member of the Nebraska Sportsman’s Foundation and is also a board member of the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.  Of course, he also loves spending time with his family on the Missouri river in the spring and summer.  Hunting with his two sons in southeast Nebraska in the fall is a highlight of his year.
